Dr. Egana's presentation will include a discussion of Negotiating the Trans Pacific Partnership and the Chilean Position on Intellectual Property Rights.
Juan Pablo Egana is a partner of Sargent & Krahn, the largest and oldest Chilean law firm specializing in intellectual property. His specialty is Intellectual Property and Competition Law: patent, trade secrets and technology transfers. He heads the firm's Patent Department, responsible for patent applications, and enforcement in Chilean courts of intellectual property rights. Juan Pablo has a Law Degree from the Universidad de Chile, and a Masters of Law in Patent and Intellectual Property from George Washington University. He is member of the Chilean Bar Association, the International Trademark Association (INTA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the Chilean Association of Intellectual Property (ACHIPI), and Licensing Executive Society (LES). Through his work for many years with the Chilean Innovation Pharmaceutical Chamber, Juan Pablo has a strong practice in pharmaceutical patent law, data exclusivity and other pharmaceutical regulatory matters. He teaches courses in different Chilean universities.
