Maria Alicia Montes, CFA, has more than 17 years of experience in investments, portfolio management, asset allocation and risk management. Today Ms. Montes is the Director of Research at AFP Cuprum, one of the largest pension funds in Chile. Here, she has held other positions for almost 17 years, such as Head of International Investments, Investment Manager, among other responsibilities. Prior to that, she worked in the Planning Department at Entel, the largest telecommunication company in Chile. Maria Alicia is Industrial Engineer from Universidad Católica de Chile, and is the first woman in being elected President of CFA Society Chile.
Hugo Aravena, CAIA, CFA, has more than 15 years of experience in investments and finance. Today Mr. Aravena is the responsible for Portfolio Solutions & Asset Allocation for advisory services and discretionary accounts of wealth management clients at BTG Pactual. Before he was Portfolio Manager of Equity, Balanced Mutual Funds, Derivatives and Liquid Alternative Strategies at BCI and Banco de Chile Asset Managers, among other important executive positions. In addition, Hugo has been professor at Universidad de Chile for undergraduate and graduate courses. Mr. Aravena holds a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Universidad de Chile and a Master of Science in Mathematical Finance from the University of Birmingham. He was member of the Education Advisory Committee in the CFA Institute and a Board Member of CFA Society Chile.
Francisco Rosemberg, Director, is Head of Institutional Business Chile. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with some of the largest clients in the region including pension funds (AFPs), insurance companies and corporates. He has spent most of his career in the asset management business covering clients in Latin America. Francisco joined BlackRock in June 2018 initially based in Santiago de Chile and relocated to Buenos Aires in January 2019 before returning to Santiago de Chile in May 2020. Prior to joining BlackRock, Francisco spent 8 years at Schroders, where he led the wealth client business in South America. Francisco earned a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Catolica in Argentina in 2009.
