To foster trade and commerce, or the interests of those carrying on such trade and commerce between the United States and the Republic of Chile; to promote the general welfare and prosperity of the United States and of the Republic of Chile; to secure freedom from unjust or unlawful exactions; to diffuse accurate and reliable information as to the standing of merchants and other matters, to procureuniformity and certainty in the customs and usages of trade and commerce; and to promote a more enlarged and friendly intercourse among businessmen in the United States and in the republic of Chile; to advance the civism commercial, industrial and agricultural interests of the United States and the republic of Chile; to provide such features as will promote those purposes, to stimulate public sentiment to those purposes, to stimulate public sentiment to these ends and to exercise all powers conferred upon it by law.
