Ian Frederick
Ian Frederick, Chilean and Austrian, Commercial Engineer at the Adolfo Ibañez University, and graduated in law as a second career. From 2017 he is Head of the Investment Promotion Division at InvestChile, the Chilean Government agency for foreign investment attraction, Ministry of Economy. He is responsible for the attraction of FDI into Chile, the development of a national strategy for this, and implementation of a comprehensive commercial plan of activities abroad and in Chile (+150 activities in 25 countries per year). He started his career with over 10 years dedicated on strategic and commercial marketing in leading multinational companies such as Procter & Gamble and Diageo. His next 15 years have been focused on international trade development and foreign investment attraction, helping international companies establish and build their business in the country and the region of Latin-America. From 2004 to 2013 he did so working for the Australian Federal Government in Chile, as Deputy Post manager for Austrade (Australian Trade and Investment Commission) in Santiago. In this field of international expansion of companies (trade and investment projects) he can provide comprehensive advice to clients with commercial expertise and legal background on regulatory/tax matters. He works closely with Ministers and their technical teams of main sectors such as public works, energy, and economy,promoting abroad their portfolios of investments opportunities (concessions, tenders )
Ignacio Recart
Ignacio Recart is an alumni of the Universidad Diego Portales in Chile with vast experience in the facilitation and promotion of international commerce. Over the course of his career, he has worked with multinational organizations in both the public and private sectors and served a number of distinguished roles within ProChile. He has been the Head of the North American Department, Trade Commissioner of Chile in Toronto (2007-2012), and the head of the Export Promotion Competition for Industries and Services. In September 2019, Mr. Recart began his work as Trade Commissioner of Chile in New York at ProChile.
