Sebastián Zulueta Azócar has been the Executive Director of América Solidaria Internacional since 2008, overseeing its international expansion to comprise seven (soon to be eight) offices throughout the Americas. He has a Master’s degree in Sociology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he taught courses on social volunteerism theory and practice. He previously served as the Director of the Service-Learning Program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica’s Teacher Training Center and from 2002-2004 he was the Executive Director of Corporación Nuestra Casa, which addressed homelessness by providing access to dignified housing and work opportunities. He serves on four nonprofit boards and in 2015 he was a Member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Multidimensional Measurement of Poverty in the dimensions of Environment and Networks for the Government of Chile.
