Informal Luncheon - Thursday, January 22, 2015 Dr. Matias Zegers
The Bolsa Emergente, to be launched in April, will be an exchange for small and medium enterprises (SMEs)---a platform for the issuance, purchase and sale of shares of SMEs. An Investment Fund will invest in all companies listed on the Bolsa Emergente, which will serve as an underwriter for a percentage of all of the listed securities.
Dr. Matias Zegers is a partner in the Chilean law firm Bahamondez, Alvarez & Zegers. He is a graduate of the Law School of the Universidad Catolica de Chile, and has a Masters of Law from the University of Michigan Law School. Dr. Zegers is Professor of Corporate and Securities Law at the Law School of Universidad Catolica, and a member of the Consejo of the Law School, Chair of the Corporate and Tax Department and Director of the Corporate Governance Center (a joint venture of the Law School and the Business School of the Universidad Catolica). Dr. Zegers practiced law at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York (2002--2003). Dr. Zegers has written about Bolsa Emergente in International Financial Law Review (a Euromoney publication, London).
